STAY Wellbeing & Lifestyle Resort Phuket is seeking an energetic and experienced Activities Manager to design, re-tool, and direct the implementation of the hotel’s activities including poolside activities, children’s activities, teen socials, family recreational activities, sports programs, and seasonal events.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the activities team while ensuring all guest experiences meet the highest hospitality standards.
Essential Functions
• Direct and coordinate all subordinate activities team to ensure day-to-day operational matters are handled efficiently and exceed guest expectations
• Coordinate with Front Office Department to ensure activities programs are updated and communicated effectively
• Monitor daily guest activities services to ensure compliance with resort standards
• Maintain systems for handling guest requests quickly and efficiently
• Prepare duty rosters, vacation plans, and public holiday schedules to maximize operational efficiency
• Ensure staff uniforms and operational equipment are maintained according to hotel standards
• Oversee inventory control, purchasing, disbursement, and all operational aspects of activities departments
• Ensure gym equipment and all activity facilities are properly maintained
• Prepare, monitor, and control the annual activities budget
• Maintain efficient administration and ensure operational reports are submitted on time
• Recruit, train, evaluate, coach, and develop team members in line with the hotel’s staff management system
• Lead talent development initiatives and support staff growth
General Responsibilities
• Maintain positive working relationships and contribute to team spirit within the hotel
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required
• Ensure compliance with hotel regulations, health & safety procedures, and local laws
• Interact with guests actively to collect feedback and improve guest satisfaction
• Handle guest comments and complaints professionally and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation across activities areas
Occupational Health & Safety
• Identify and manage operational risks to minimize incidents and accidents
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with OH&S standards
• Monitor workplace incidents and support safety improvement initiatives
• Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained safely
• Conduct regular emergency procedure and safety training for employees
Qualification Standards
Education
• Degree, diploma, or technical certification in related fields
Experience
• 3–7 years of experience in a similar position within hospitality or resort operations
• Outgoing, dynamic personality with strong leadership capabilities
Essential Job Skills
• Good English communication skills
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to prepare reports and presentations in English
• Knowledge of local language preferred
• Previous experience in hotels or resorts of similar standard preferred
